Terra Suite: The central platform for professional robotics
Terra Robotics
Reading time: approx. 5 minutes
With the Terra Suite, Terra Robotics is creating a central, manufacturer-independent platform for professional robotics operations. Robots, locations, operational data, service, and economic key performance indicators are brought together in one place – regardless of which manufacturer the systems in use come from.
In doing so, Terra Robotics is taking the next step from being a robotics provider to a holistic solution provider. Because the more robotics are deployed in companies, the more important one question becomes: How can different robots, systems, and locations be managed and scaled in a permanently clear way? This is exactly where the Terra Suite comes in.
When more robots also mean more complexity
A single robot can be managed relatively easily. But as soon as multiple systems are deployed, the complexity increases rapidly.
For example, a company might use a cleaning robot in administration, transport robots in logistics, and a service robot at the reception. On top of that, there may be additional locations – and devices from different manufacturers, each with their own platforms and user interfaces.
This quickly leads to a fragmented system landscape.
The Terra Suite therefore pursues a manufacturer-independent approach. Different robot models and manufacturers are to be brought together in a central environment, so that companies do not have to manage their robotics infrastructure across many individual systems.
A platform for robots, locations, and entire fleets
At the heart of the Terra Suite is a central overview of ongoing robotics operations.
Companies can map their deployed systems in a structured way and consolidate important information in one place.
This includes, among other things:
- deployed robots and robot models
- current device status
- locations and areas of application
- fleet structures
- operational and usage data
- costs and economic key performance indicators
- maintenance and service information
Device statuses can be viewed centrally, locations mapped, and structures built from a single robot to a multi-site fleet. Costs and ROI are also intended to be evaluated more transparently as a result.
The decisive advantage: The platform is not geared towards a single manufacturer, but towards the company’s actual robotics operations.
Manufacturer-independent instead of five platforms for five manufacturers
Terra Robotics already pursues a manufacturer-independent approach when selecting robots.
A specific manufacturer should not dictate which solution is used. What is decisive is which robot is best suited for the respective process.
With the Terra Suite, this concept is transferred to the software level.
Whether cleaning robotics, service, transport, reception, humanoid systems, or other autonomous solutions: the platform is intended to provide a central overview even if different technologies are used in parallel.
This allows companies to make their robotics strategy more flexible. New systems do not have to come from the same manufacturer just to fit into an existing management structure.
Fleet management for multiple locations
A central platform becomes particularly relevant when companies use robotics across several branches or sites.
Instead of viewing each location separately, structures can be built centrally within the Terra Suite.
For example, one can distinguish between:
Company → Location → Area of application → Robot
This creates a traceable structure from the individual device to the entire fleet.
For facility service providers, chain store companies, industrial companies, or organizations with multiple buildings, this can make a significant difference. As the number of robots grows, the administrative burden does not automatically increase in the same proportion.
The platform is designed to manage robotics scalably from the first location to larger fleets.
Evaluating profitability and ROI more transparently
In day-to-day operations, robotics must prove itself not just technically. It is also crucial whether the solution is being used in an economically sensible way.
That is why the Terra Suite considers economic key performance indicators in addition to the device status.
Costs, usage, and ROI can be evaluated centrally. This makes it visible, for example, how intensively a robot is actually being used and how its deployment is developing economically.
This transparency is particularly important when comparing multiple robots, different locations, or various application areas.
In this way, fleet management develops from purely technical administration into a tool for the strategic control of robotics deployment.
Terra Cloud as secure infrastructure in Germany
A central component of the Terra ecosystem is the Terra Cloud.
The platform is operated on Terra Robotics' own cloud infrastructure in Germany. Operational and device data can thus be processed centrally, without companies having to operate their entire robotics infrastructure exclusively via different manufacturer clouds.
The Terra Cloud relies on, among other things:
- data storage in Germany
- dedicated Terra servers
- encrypted data transmission and storage
- role-based access
- logging
- backups and recovery
- GDPR-compliant infrastructure
Especially with robotics in industry, logistics, healthcare, public institutions, or larger corporate structures, the question of data sovereignty is becoming increasingly important.
More than fleet management: an ecosystem for Terra Robotics partners
The Terra Suite is not aimed exclusively at companies that manage their own robots.
It also provides a central platform for resellers and Terra Robotics partners, through which they can build and further develop their own robotics business.
The partner ecosystem includes, among other things:
- manufacturer-independent robotics portfolio
- ordering with live inventory
- customer management
- fleet management
- maintenance and service processes
- remote support
- central knowledge base
- AI-supported knowledge functions
- training and certifications
This allows partners not only to provide a robotics solution but also to continue accompanying and supporting customers after the sale.
Through the Terra Robotics Partner Program, a consistent approach of hardware, platform, service, and expertise is created.
Making knowledge and support centrally available
Professional robotics requires expertise.
How is a specific model set up? What does an error message mean? Which settings must be considered for a specific area of application? And which solution is suitable for a concrete customer requirement?
Instead of distributing information across various manufacturer portals, documentation, and internal files, the intention is for knowledge to be centrally available within the Terra Suite.
For partners, among other things, a central knowledge base with specially trained AI is planned or is part of the established ecosystem. This is supplemented by training and certifications.
In this way, Terra Robotics connects the technical platform with the Terra Academy and its own service and partner approach.
Service becomes part of digital robotics operations
An important part of a robotics project only begins after commissioning.
Maintenance must be planned, faults handled, and technical information documented in a traceable manner.
The Terra Suite therefore connects fleet management with maintenance and remote support. This allows technical processes to be more strongly linked to the robot's actual operational data.
This is particularly relevant for larger fleets: instead of organizing service only reactively, the foundation is laid for more structured and transparent operations over the entire life cycle.
From platform to networked robotics ecosystem
The Terra Suite is not intended to be a finished product.
Further integrations are to be added step by step. Examples include the connection to doors and elevators, additional communication with partners, as well as stronger analysis and automation of workflows. These features are intended as future developments and should therefore not be equated with functions that are already fully available.
In the long term, this creates an infrastructure that does not just look at individual robots.
Robots, buildings, processes, service, partners, and data can increasingly be connected to one another.
An operating system for professional robotics
Terra Robotics describes the Terra Suite as a manufacturer-independent operating system for professional robotics.
This claim describes well what the platform is about.
The robot remains the executing technology on site. The Terra Suite forms the central digital layer above it, via which systems can be organized, monitored, analyzed, and serviced.
In combination with Terra Cloud, Terra Service, financing, training, and the manufacturer-independent robotics portfolio, a complete ecosystem for professional robotics is created.
Hardware. Software. Service. Data. One platform.
