The robots collect operational and status data (telemetry). No audio/video recordings during standard operation.
We operate our own servers in Germany! This ensures that operating and device data remains 100% with Terra. You retain full control. Manufacturer access is consistently minimized and strictly regulated on a need-to-know basis; this is our clear unique selling proposition!
With the Terra Cloud, we host all robot data on our own servers in Germany. This means: no data leaks to manufacturers, no third countries, full transparency and control. We only collect what is necessary for operation and service (telemetry, configuration, service history) and strictly adhere to data minimization. Access is role-based, transmission and storage are encrypted, and deletion periods are contractually regulated.
Result: legal certainty, predictable operation, and a clear advantage over standard, manufacturer-managed cloud models.
The Terra Cloud is our proprietary cloud infrastructure for daily robotics operations. “Cloud” means: The robots transmit operational data (e.g., status, runtimes, error messages) to a server, allowing us to perform maintenance, updates, and support in a fast and predictable manner. The crucial difference: The server belongs to us, is located in Germany, and is operated by Terra. This ensures that both you and we maintain full sovereignty over all data. Manufacturers do not have access unless you explicitly grant it, for instance, in the event of a one-time support request. For you, this means: transparency, data protection, and independence.
For companies that take data protection, compliance, and control seriously: facility services, hotels & gastronomy, retail & malls, offices & education, clinics, logistics & production. Wherever robotics needs to be productive without sensitive operational data ending up in manufacturer clouds.
We rely on encryption (data is unreadable to unauthorized parties), role-based access (only authorized persons), logging (who did what?), as well as backups & recovery. Together, we define deletion periods and conclude a Data Processing Agreement (DPA). Everything is GDPR-compliant, transparent, and direct.
Encryption | Roles & Permissions | ISO27001 certified | Backups | DPA | GDPR Compliant
Because the data resides with Terra, we can diagnose issues faster, perform scheduled maintenance more cleanly, and resolve malfunctions efficiently. Optional replacement equipment is available (as per SLA). You receive your reports (e.g., usage, availability, cleaned areas) in a compact and easy-to-understand format. All of this works without manufacturer access. You retain control at all times.
Transparent in three steps, so you can track how data is collected, transmitted, and used at any time.
The robots collect operational and status data (telemetry). No audio/video recordings during standard operation.
The data is transmitted in encrypted form and is stored exclusively on Terra servers in Germany.
We use the data for monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance reports (e.g., cleaned m²/h, jobs/day).
Terra Cloud is Terra Robotics' own cloud infrastructure for the professional operation of robots. It is used to securely manage operational data, statuses, configurations, service information, and performance reports so that robot fleets in companies can be predictably monitored, maintained, and supported.
Terra Cloud data is stored on proprietary Terra servers in Germany. This allows companies to retain greater control over the operational and device data of their robots and avoid unnecessary data flows to manufacturer clouds or third countries.
The Terra Cloud only stores data that is necessary for operation, maintenance, support, and evaluation. This includes, for example, telemetry data, robot status, operating times, error messages, configurations, service history, and performance reports. Audio or video recordings are not stored during standard operation.
Terra Cloud is important for GDPR and data sovereignty because sensitive operational data from robotics projects must not flow uncontrolled to manufacturers or international cloud systems. Terra Robotics relies on servers in Germany, data minimization, encrypted transmission, role-based access, and contractually regulated deletion and retention periods.
Manufacturers do not have standard access to operating or device data in the Terra Cloud. Access can only occur in explicitly authorized individual cases, for example, if a manufacturer must be technically involved for a specific support case.
Terra Robotics relies on encrypted data transmission, encrypted storage, role-based access rights, logging, backups, recovery processes, and contractual agreements via a data processing agreement for the Terra Cloud. This allows companies to track who accesses which data and what it is used for.
The Terra Cloud is particularly suitable for companies that use robots productively while taking data protection, compliance, and operational security seriously. Typical areas of application include facility services, hotels, catering, retail, shopping malls, offices, educational institutions, clinics, logistics centers, and production facilities.
The Terra Cloud supports maintenance and support by allowing Terra Robotics to centrally evaluate operating statuses, error messages, runtimes, and service histories. This enables faults to be diagnosed more quickly, scheduled maintenance to be better prepared, and support processes to be carried out more efficiently, without the manufacturer requiring permanent access to customer data.
Through the Terra Cloud, understandable performance reports for robot fleets can be provided, for example on utilization, availability, operating times, completed tasks, or cleaned areas. Such reports help facility management, logistics, retail, catering, and industry make the benefits of robotics more measurable in ongoing operations.
The most important advantage of the Terra Cloud over a manufacturer cloud is the stronger data control held by Terra Robotics and the customer. Data remains on Terra servers in Germany, manufacturer access is minimized, support cases are released in a controlled manner, and companies receive a more transparent foundation for GDPR, operational security, reporting, and long-term robot fleet management.
